NOTHING BUT THE BEST

We utilize the most current technologies to deliver the best results to our customers. Our determination to improve the Central Illinois prairie has set us beyond our competition. If the technology we require doesn’t exist, we create it.

Bron 450 Commercial Drainage Plow

Weighing in at nearly 40 tons and packing a 440 horsepower CAT engine, the Bron 450 is a self-propelled drainage plow that provides an excellent balance of power and agility through all types of soil conditions. This machine is used to install 4” - 6” drain tile as deep as 5 feet.

Custom Dual On-board Reel Carrier

SFDI worked closely with RFW Bron to design and build a custom On-board Reel Carrier capable of carrying two rolls of pipe. This reduces the need for additional support equipment and personnel, increasing the speed and efficiency of installation.

Port Hydramaxx 2715 Wheel Trencher

With over 420 horsepower, the Port Industries Hydramaxx 2715 can move a lot of dirt. Our custom built trencher is capable of installing tile as large as 30” up to 7.5 deep. The trapezoidal buckets and v-grover create the perfect trench to properly support all sizes of pipe from 4” - 30”.

Quick-detach Digging Wheel

Always Looking for ways to improve efficiency, SFDI teamed up with Port Industries to develop a quick-detach digging wheel, enabling our crew to quickly swap out the entire digging mechanism in less than 20 minutes. Our two digging wheels are designed to accommodate the installation of single-wall and dual-wall pipe.

Case CX210C Excavator

One of the most versatile machines in our fleet, the Case CX210C is used for digging ditches and tie-ins, removing and replacing overburden, lifting equipment, and more.

Dissatisfied with the industry leading installation software, we teamed up with White Barn Tech to develop the custom hardware and software known as TileLogic MC. This has not only improved the installation process, but has also improved survey and mapping. As projects grew in size and complexity, the TileLogic suite grew to include software to aid in the engineering process. TileLogic Design is now a key software in the design of each drainage project, capable of performing virtual burial and sizing calculations for large projects with multiple drainage networks.

SFDI is always looking for news ways to utilize technology to better the quality and efficiency of installation. The most recent addition to the company toolkit is LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). By utilizing topographic data collected by the Illinois Height Modernization Program (ILHMP), we have eliminated the need to physically survey a field. Now an entire watershed can be analyzed in minutes,
revealing the much larger picture of where the water is coming from and where it is going.
